The Adventure Pack

We had a rare deer encounter on the hike today.  Rucksack couldn't help himself and went running down the hill beside the trail to chase it off.  Once the deer high-tailed it away, Rucksack came back.  Benny wasn't interested in the deer; I'm not sure whether he even noticed it to begin with.  Earlier in the hike, Rucksack was carrying a reasonably sized stick for a change and Benny picked up a smaller one and trotted along behind him.

The Play Pack

Whiskey and Harry had their first pack outing today with their friend Osiris.  Whiskey was very playful and danced around in front of other dogs to get them to run with him, while Harry followed Whiskey around most of the time and joined in the chase when Whiskey got going.  Osiris found two great wrestling buddies today: a Rottweiler named Porter and a German Shepherd named King.  He played with Porter first, and the two of them really liked going up on their hind legs and boxing with each other.  Later on, he had a great time rolling around with King.  Benny joined in the chases with Harry and Whiskey some of the time.  It's adorable when he drops into a play-bow with his huge, lanky legs when he meets a new friend that he wants to play with.
