Coco did well on her first day of Pack Activities after being spayed. She met a friendly Rhodesian Ridgeback early on that hiked with us for about half the time. We had a scare when Coco stumbled upon a snake in the brush just next to the trail. She dodged a strike and came running over to me. The snake was hissing loudly but I didn't hear a rattle, so it was probably a non-venomous Bull snake. I checked Coco over after grabbing her Ridgeback friend who was curious about the hissing and started to approach it. The Ridgeback's guardians helped me check Coco and she had no marks on her. She was acting as if nothing happened at all! After the hike I checked her stitching to make sure she was doing okay with that, and it looked to be intact. The bumps on her head look to be mostly gone now, too, so hopefully she'll get some fur back in those patches soon.
Osiris turned the tables this week on two of the other dogs who were giving him a hard time hopping on him last week - Benny and Cooper. He hopped on each of them today to show them he wasn't a pushover, but he did it all with a playful smile. While Cooper got the idea and just decided to lay off, Benny had some fun playing with Osiris, which is rare for Benny who usually just lies around at the park. Eventually, Benny - who is a Sheepdog with some years on him - had enough playing and got a little grumpy; Osiris took the hint and backed off. Later on, Rucksack and Osiris had a great time wrestling around. Rucksack spent the earlier part of our visit fetching a yellow rubber ball and chasing a volleyball alongside his ball-obsessed pal Buzz.
