The Adventure Pack

Coco and Benny had fun running around together when we first hit the trails today.  After an initial burst of playful energy, they both stuck close by and sniffed along the trail.  Later on, Benny tried to get Wesley to play with him when we came to a small bridge along the 3rd Flatiron trail.  Benny was on the bridge and Wesley crossed beside it, where the creek was dried up.  When Wesley came near, Benny started bowing and hopping around.  Wesley hopped up onto the bridge with Benny as Benny kept bowing playfully and started mouthing at Wesley's neck.  Wesley just grumbled at Benny and kept walking forward while Benny tried his hardest to get his packmate to play back.  Once they were over the bridge, Benny gave up and started back down the trail.  Rucksack found one stick that he carried briefly.  When he left it behind, Coco grabbed it up.  But when she realized she couldn't get him to try to steal it back she lost interest and left it behind as well.  Back at the trailhead, we encountered a reporter for 7 news who was doing a story on the Voice and Sight Control Green Tag program, which is being assessed, and he taped a brief interview with me so Coco, Rucksack, Benny, and Wesley might all be on TV tonight!

The Play Pack

Benny was more lively at the park today and tried to join in Coco and Oscar's wrestling by nibbling Coco's butt.  His contributions just made Coco feel ganged up on, though, and I had to have everyone settle down.  Later on, Benny was very interested in a little Whippet.  He was poised as they walked around each other, sniffing, but never broke out into full-on play.
