The Adventure Pack

The walk started off cool this morning alongside Bear Creek but it warmed up quite a bit as we went on.  Toskey had her first day back in a while and was even more excited to greet me at the door than usual.  Rucksack has been much better about walking on the leash without pulling ever since I started having Coco walk on his outside while he's right next to me; the trick is getting Coco to stay in position.  She's started to get used to it, though, and moves back into her place more and more readily each time I show her.  She's a great little helper!  Mogul kept pace without lagging behind at all today, though he did veer off a few times to leave his scent on a bush here and there.  near the end of the walk, Toskey walked into the shade of a tree on the grass by the path and lied down.  Everybody decided to follow suit and I took a picture of them all lying down together - posted in the Pack Photos page for September!

The Play Pack

Today's Play Pack was a gang of all boys: Mogul, Benny, Lincoln, Cooper, and Maverick!  They were all relatively mellow.  Lincoln, Cooper, and Benny stuck by my side throughout most of the visit - especially Lincoln, who followed at my side if I moved as much as three feet.  Lincoln was happy to leave my side to chase tennis balls, though, and then to wrestle around with Benny toward the end of our visit.  Cooper and Maverick were also both interested in the tennis balls but they wouldn't chase them down, knowing that Lincoln would beat them to it.  I got them both to go after the balls by kicking them around at short distances in front of them.  Cooper ran over and snagged the ball up whereas Maverick just hopped around it playfully.  Mogul met a big, white Malamute mix who he played his standoff game with.  He did a lot of hopping around and even dropped halfway into a bow a couple times but no spins today.
