The Adventure Pack
There wasn't nearly as much sniffing around today as there was yesterday - I guess the scents brought out by Wednesday's rain have faded. Bennny was the only pack member with his nose to the ground at all. Wesley didn't have to go looking for interesting things with his nose today - it came to him: a grasshopper leaped up from the side of the path and landed right on Wesley's nose! He just shook it off and continued on like it was nothing. A little while later, another grasshopper hopped near us and Coco dove for it but missed. Rucksack has been walking much better on leash the last few days. I've begun having him walk right next to me with Coco on his other side and that seems to keep his attention more with the group and less on everything else up ahead.
The Play Pack
Maverick had his first day back with the Play Pack in a week and Lincoln had his last. After some initial shyness about getting into the car with his packmates, Maverick was much more comfortable today and had a lot of fun. He was interested in a tennis ball and I tried throwing it for him but Lincoln beat him to it. I started throwing one ball for Lincoln to fetch and then kicking another one around for Maverick to pounce on and play with. Benny caught a few that I threw to him, too. Meanwhile, Charlie spent most of the time running around with a young yellow Lab who wiggled all over the place and had tons of energy. Benny met a dog who was interested in him and they had a few awkward standoffs much like Mogul often has with other dogs. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder, waiting to see who would make the first move and then they'd scramble around for a moment before hopping back into position. It was a fun day for the whole pack and Lincoln's packmates will be happy to continue seeing him at the park with his mom.
