The Adventure Pack

Coco and Rucksack enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and smells along the Boulder Creek path today.  They were especially excited about a raft of ducks that took to paddling in the water as we approached.  There were also a pair of squirrels who came hopping down the path toward us, one chasing after the other, and they only veered off into the woods when they were about 2 yards away.  Judging by their intense focus on the squirrels, I think Coco and Rucksack may have followed them over the iron fence and into the brush if not for being on leash.

The Play Pack

The Play Pack had another new member today - Cooper!  I've taken Cooper out for weekend walks now and then but today was his first day in Pack Activities.  He got along well with his packmates Mogul and Benny right from the beginning, as well as Coco and Rucksack (who were still with us from the morning when we picked up Cooper).  At the park, Cooper chased down some tennis balls but wasn't too keen on bringing them back for me to throw again.  He was also very friendly with all of the humans at the park.  Benny seems to be doing much better since his vet visit a little over a week ago.  His slight limp is gone and he broke out into an all-out run a few times at the park, including while playing with a Staffordshire Terrier pup with whom he had a lot of fun.  Mogul walked around the park with me, Cooper, and Benny each time we made a round and then he lied in the shade whenever we hung out in one spot for a while.  All in all, it was a pretty mellow introduction to the Play Pack for Cooper.
