The Adventure Pack

It was sprinkling a bit when we started the hike today, but it didn't soak us too much and it kept things cool for the beginning of the hike.  Rucksack was eager to go and pulled ahead a bit on the leash.  Mogul, on the other hand, fell into his habit of hanging behind.  Coco followed along right by my side.  Everyone stayed on leash because there have apparently been several recent bear sightings around the Chautauqua and there were signs up at every trail saying dogs were required to be kept on leash.  We didn't see any bears but Mogul, Rucksack, and Coco all got pretty excited about a squirrel that was hopping around up the trail a bit.  They all became poised and intent on it, though none of them tried to run for it.

The Play Pack

The park wasn't very busy today, presumably due to the showers.  Mogul lied down in the rain and only came under the shelter of the big tree when someone sat down at the picnic table with their lunch.  Maverick wandered around a bit and batted around a tennis ball for a little while.  I threw one for him to chase and he looked excited about it at first but then stopped and just watched it go.  After it stopped rolling he just stared for a few seconds, seemingly waiting to see if anyone else would get it.  When no one else did, he pranced over to it, stood over it, and stared at me.  I went over and bounced it around near him and he went back to pouncing and batting it around.  Meanwhile, Coco was getting a lot of exercise fetching longer throws I made with the Chuckit.
