The Adventure Pack

Oliver was friendly on the trails today.  He didn't bark at any of the other dogs we passed; he just walked up and sniffed them.  Coco was more mellow today and spent a lot of her time following Mogul around instead of forging the way herself.  Benny's energy level was also pretty low and he trotted along behind me.  I think everyone was feeling the heat.

The Play Pack

Benny and Mogul spent a lot of their time at the park just lounging.  Benny made a few rounds among the humans at the park to get a little love and Mogul got up to wander around with a few other dogs now and then but they mostly lied in the shade.  Coco had a lot of energy and was enjoying playing fetch but I held the ball for a while because her panting was very rapid and I didn't want her to overwork herself.  When Coco plays fetch, I think the intensity of her focus could override her sense of well being so she needed me to let her know it was time to rest for a bit.  Maverick had a great second outing with the pack.  He was much less nervous about coming out with me and getting into the car with the other dogs today.  Once at the park, he spent a lot of time prancing around with a 1 year old Labradoodle pup named Pippy.  Maverick has a throaty growl-bark that I took for a sign of discomfort at first but have discovered that it's something he does when he's feeling playful.  He barked like that at Pippy then bosed and hopped around teasingly and Pippy responded in kind but they never actually made contact - all dancing, no wrestling.  It was very cute.
