The Adventure Pack

Yesterday, Rucksack got a facefull of burrs; today, it was apparently Benny's turn to get tangled up with something prickly.  Near the end of our hike, I noticed Benny limping and licking at his left front paw.  When I got a closer look I saw he had two chunks of cactus stuck to it.  It took a few minutes to get him to settle down and lie still enough for me to pick them off but we eventually got through it.  Coco thought he wanted to roll around when he lied down so she bowed in front of him and started mouthing at his face before I got her to calm down as well.  Wesley, Rucksack, and Coco's time was less eventful; everyone stuck pretty close by throughout the hike besides Benny, who was wandering off and lingering in the brush a lot.

The Play Pack

I finished picking out the last of the small needles from Benny's leg at the park and Coco again thought that Benny was taking a play position.  The two of them mouthed each other a bit and then I told Coco to leave Benny be while I helped him out with the last of the needles.  Afterward, Benny dug a little cooling pit and lied down in it for most of the rest of the visit.  Coco played fetch with a couple tennis balls as usual.
