The Adventure Pack

Rucksack and Benny were very playful together today.  They started off in the car, where Benny nibbled on Rucksack's legs while Rucksack nosed him and barked in high-pitched, playful tones.  On the trails, they wreslted around a bit and then Benny found a small stick and got Rucksack to chase him around for it.  Wesley and Coco also had some fun together today, exploring off the trail a bit together and then running up side-by-side when I called them.  Later on, they romped in the tall grass a bit until Wesley decided he was done and sat down.  Coco stared at him for a second then walked up alongside him and sat down, too.  When Wesley got up, Coco followed; and when he sat down again a few moments later she did the same.  I don't think I've seen a string of copycat behavior like that among the pack members (or any other dogs) before - it was really funny!

The Play Pack

When we first got to the park, Charlie and a dog named Samson (who we saw just the other day) both really wanted to play with Coco and they were a little too pushy.  Coco got intimidated by all the attention and we walked down to the far end of the park so everyone had a chance to settle down.  Samson followed us a little ways and then turned around and headed back.  The far end of the park wasw empty and Coco and Charlie ended up playing with just the two of them and having a lot of fun.  Meanwhile, Benny chewed on Marley's ears and Marley hopped around in front of him and rubbed her head and shoulders against his chest.  Later, Coco caught a frisbee several times in a row while Charlie chased Marley around and Benny lounged in the shade.
