The Adventure Pack

We took it slow today and lingered by the stream for a long while.  Keeping wet really got Wesley's energy up and for the first time in memory he was actually leading the pack up the trail instead of following behind.  Poor Benny stuck his curious nose into an anthill and ended up with a face full of ants.  He stepped out from the brush, flinching and twitching, and then I noticed the black flecks sticking to his whiskers.  He had about 4 or 5 and scratched at them then licked them from his lips between flinches.  I'm guessing he'll be a little more cautious about where he sticks his nose next time.  Coco and Oliver managed to stay out of trouble, although they were both a little grumpy with the first few dogs we passed today.

The Play Pack

Marley, Charlie, and Coco all ran together when we arrived at the park.  Charlie and Marley were both a little more focused on Coco than each other but they all went back and forth with each other a bit.  Benny followed behind at a bit of a distance.  I played catch with Benny, which consists of me picking up the tennis ball, telling him to wait, stepping back a few paces, then tossing it right to him.  This is the only way I can get him to go for the ball because when I throw it for him to chase after Coco always swoops in and snatches it up before Benny even lifts a paw.  Benny was happy to just catch the ball, though, and his focus was totally on me when I was holding it.
