The Adventure Pack

We tried out the Gregory Canyon Trail today because by the trailhead it looks really well shaded and there's a creek that runs through; but once we got a little ways in, the shade was totally gone and we weren't that close to the creek anymore.  We headed back and went up the Saddle Rock Trail, which is a bit steeper of a hike but is pretty well shaded throughout.  We paused at the creek and everybody splashed around in the water but Coco was the only one to actually lie down in it; Wesley, Rucksack, and Benny just got their paws wet.  We had plenty of ice water from the Camelbak to keep everyone hydrated and cool, though.

The Play Pack

Charlie had lots of fun with a new puppy today.  It wasn't his other recent playmate, Baxter, but it looked a lot like him - maybe a month or two older.  Brady was full of energy today and beat Coco to the tennis ball almost every time I threw it for the two of them.  Brady also had fun with a little Australian Shepherd.  I say little because the dog was notably smaller than other Australian Shepherds, but he looked purebred; I think he was just a runt.  Benny half-heartedly went for a few tennis balls that I threw his way but Coco dove in enthusiastically and stole them away before Benny had a chance.  One time, Benny responded to Coco grabbing the tennis ball by opening his mouth wide and holding her whole head in it.  He's very gentle, though; it was really cute.
