The Adventure Pack

Today's excitement started in the car when we parked along a shaded stretch of 8th street just by Chautauqua.  Half a dozen or more squirrels happened to be out and about, right in that shaded stretch, and they immediately caught the attentions of both Coco and Wesley.  There was a lot of rushing back and forth from one side of the car to the other while growling and pacing excitedly in place.  Once the squirrels dispersed a bit and Coco and Wesley settled down, we got out of the car and started hiking.  Coco and Benny hiked off leash together to start with and then Wesley and Rucksack were paired oup for the latter half of the hike.  Rucksack didn't do any of his usual wandering today; he spent almost the entire hike following in line behind Wesley, who in turn was following in line behind me.

The Play Pack

Coco played a lot of fetch today while Benny and Charlie stood in the shade and watched her.  Charlie occassionally harassed Coco as she made her way back with the ball and the two of them spent a while rolling around together and chewing each other's cheeks.  The park was empty for a lot of the time we were there but a Great Dane (mix?) named Ivy showed up and tried to get in on Coco and Charlie's wrestling.  After a few attempts that were rebuked by Charlie, Ivy ended up nudging and nosing around with Benny for a bit.
