The Adventure Pack

Rucksack grabbed up a stick early in our hike and brought it most of the way up the Amphitheatre trail.  I was impressed by his stamina in the hot weather.  Benny wandered around and between his packmates just soaking in all smells and occassionally nibbling bark off the trees we passed.  Coco had a burst of silly, playful energy toward the end of the hike and ran around in the grass beside the trail then flopped onto her back and wiggled around.  Wesley joined her and flopped on his back in turn then wiggled as he slid down the hill back to the trail.

The Play Pack

Coco and Charlie played together for a lot of our time at the park when they weren't just laying in the shade.  Benny tried to get into their wrestling by nibbling Charlie's butt but Charlie just got annoyed and spun and chased Benny off before turning back to Coco.  Benny had better luck with a yellow Lab and a black Lab.  When Benny first greeted the yellow Lab, Benny tried nudging him with his nose and the Lab responded with a firm bark saying "back off!"  Benny whimpered and skipped back a few steps then stared at the Lab and finally started hopping back and forth and dropping into play bows until the Lab decided to play with him.  I was impressed by his combination of manners and persistence and was glad to see it was rewarded when the yellow Lab gave him some attention.
