The Adventure Pack

Wesley normally follows behind me for most of his off-leash time on our hikes but today he spent most of his time following Rucksack around while Rucksack weaved in and out of the brush alongside the trail.  Coco and Benny had a burst of playful energy when we were heading back on the trail that runs parallel to baseline.  The two of them engaged in some roundabout chasing through the tall grass.

The Play Pack

Charlie and Wesley did some wrestling around at the park today.  Charlie also chased and wrestled around with Coco.  Benny was mostly interested in chewing sticks, although there was a young yellow Lab that caught his attention for a while and he spent some time nibbling on the Lab's fur.  When she wasn't running with Charlie, Coco was chasing tennis balls or just standing next to me.  Toward the end of our visit, Wesley sat in front of me and scooted in as close as he could while Coco played tug-of-war/keep-away from Benny and a Beagle named Bumper, using a thick stick as the bait.

Wesley's older brother Sawyer passed away today.  Sawyer was a very sweet, very happy old dog who was loved very much by his family, and who I had the pleasure of seeing each day that I took Wesley out.  Remember to cherish your time with your furry family members (and the non-furry ones, too) - it's always shorter than we'd like.
