The Adventure Pack

Coco and Toskey explored side-by-side on the trails today.  At one point on the trail where there's a creek around the bend at Gregory Canyon, the dogs sometimes have a tendency to rush up ahead and splash around in the water.  I was impressed today when Coco and Toskey stopped and turned to look at me, and when I asked them to come over they did without hesitation.  They each got a treat for being so patient.  On the way back, Rucksack's enthusiasm to splash in the creek was too much for him and he went barreling down to the water but he did listen and come back when I called him.  I guess Mogul had his fill on our first pass by the creek because on the way back he didn't seem to notice it was there.  Just after that, we came to a fork in the trail.  We usually take the shorter way back but we had some extra time today so we went over to the Ski Jump trail.  When I started up that way, Mogul just stood at the fork, staring at me with his head slightly askew.  I've always been impressed by Mogul's sense of direction (except that one time...).

The Play Pack

Coco had a good long romp with Buzz at the park today.  It started with some wreslting right in front of me, pretty much in my lap, but then Buzz took off and Coco gave chase.  Benny got in where he could, mostly nibbling at Coco's butt or mouthing the back of her neck while she was distracted.  Mogul was feeling pretty lazy at the park.  He walked with me and his packmates down to the end and back a few times and seemed to really like it when I gave him a good, scratchy back rub.  I got some handfuls of undercoat out of him, which may have contributed to his lazy demeanor.
