The Adventure Pack

Coco really seems to like the role of scouting when we hike.  She spends her whole time off-leash a little up ahead on the trail and she often pauses in place to take in the scene ahead before glancing back at her packmates and moving on.  Wesley was less vigilant on our hike and was content to follow where I and his packmates led.  Rucksack had a bit of a problem with wandering off out of sight again today so he had to go back on leash.  Oliver joined us for the hike today and despite being soaked he trotted along with a happy bounce in his step.  His favorite part of the hike was when we stopped for a snack break.  He hopped up onto his hind legs and danced in anticipation.  The other pack members enjoy treat time, too; but Oliver was by far the most animated about his excitement.

The Play Pack

Charlie made friends with Keeyush today.  Keeyush is a Malamute/German Shepherd mix who we've seen at the Valmont dog park pretty regularly and who Coco has had alot of fun with.  Today, Charlie and Keeyush spent the entire time stalking, chasing, and wrestling with one another, their only interruptions being to splash around side-by-side in the big puddle that Charlie has been enjoying for the past week.  Meanwhile, Coco teased Benny with a tennis ball that she had been doing a great job of fetching.  She was relentless about flaunting the ball in Benny's face - sometimes holding it in the side of her mouth, half sticking out, and letting him nibble on it before pulling away and then swinging her head all around in front of him tauntingly.
