The Adventure Pack

"Ruff!" Oliver barked at me, standing with his front paws against my calf while I passed treats out to the pack during a break in our hike.

"No," I said, shaking my head.

"Ruff!" he barked again, this time in a higher pitch.

"No," I repeated.

"Yip!" The third time his voice was an even higher pitch.

"No."

"Yip?" His voice had reached a quiet, questioning squeak.

"Sit."

He sat and waited for his treat, having nothing else to say.

Coco also vocalized notably today - unfortunately it was in the form of barking at a passing hiker.  She had paused and stared at the horizon when a siren from town started up.  A moment later, the hiker came from precisely the direction of the siren.  She obviously associated the two and wanted to make sure her pack knew that something was off about the man who approached.  Mogul, Benny, and Oliver hadn't been so interested in the siren and subsequently couldn't have cared less about the hiker.

The Play Pack

Benny had a lot of fun at the park today.  He got into a long bout of playful wrestling with one dog and they were joined occasionally by other excited pups.  Coco was among those who joined and with her came Daisy who followed Coco around nipping at her heels.  In addition to following Coco around, Daisy had fun with two little black dogs.  One was a puppy who I haven't seen before and the other was Milo - a Corgi mix who we see pretty regularly.  She had been dancing around with the puppy for a bit before breaking out into a full-speed sprint.  The puppy gave chase and Milo joined in.  Meanwhile, Mogul was lounging right in the middle of the park.  He had danced around a bit with a couple different dogs earlier in our visit and just wanted to chill.  On our way out, he had a little fun hopping around with a tall dog who looked like a Pit Bull mix.  He always goes for the big dogs.
