The Adventure Pack

Wesley, Coco, Benny, and Rucksack hiked up the Third Flatiron at Chautauqua today.  We took a scenic route up to that trail and made a few stops for everyone to sniff around.  We played a group-oriented patience/attention game during a couple of our pit stops.  I get everyone's attention and have them sit, and then they each get a small treat.  Then I wait for 30 seconds or so and whoever is still sitting gets another round of treats.  Then I repeat until only one or two of them is still sitting, and sometimes wait longer in between if everyone's doing well.  It usually goes for 2-4 rounds.  Benny was the first to lose focus - he stood up and started sniffing around right after he had his first treat.  Wesley is the most patient and attentive, but Coco is pretty close behind.  Rucksack lasted for 2-3 rounds.

The Play Pack

Brady found a couple playmates today that he did a little running with.  The first was another little, white, fluffy dog - a bit smaller than him.  The other was a Jack Russell Terrier mix.  Benny also enjoyed the same two pups and followed them around, nibbling at their necks and letting them jump up against him.  Coco played fetch with tennis balls, flaunted a frisbee around for a while after one toss and didn't bring it back, and used a stick to play keep-away from a few other dogs.  She's very object-oriented at the park.
