The Adventure Pack
Wesley and Coco had fun together on today's hike. Coco taunted Wesley with a stick until he successfully stole it from her. Then Coco gnawed at it while Wesley stood still with an iron grip on his prize. Coco eventually gave up and trotted up the trail. A short while later, when Wesley was walking along beside me and Coco was up ahead a bit, Coco turned around and crouched with her focus on the stick still in Wesley's mouth. She ran toward Wesley, who made a move to dodge her, but when he saw that Coco anticipated his move and was already there to meet him, he dropped the stick and ran out of the way. Toward the end of our hike, Coco and Wesley helped to find another dog who had wandered away from her guardian. We stopped our hike to help the search, pausing every so often to listen for jingling tags. During one pause, I thought I heard panting off in the distance but I wasn't sure. I looked over at Coco and Wesley and they had both moved up to the highest nearby ground and were staring intently in the direction I thought the panting came from. We headed up the trail that way and before long we came across the errant pup - who ran over to greet Coco and Wesley - and I got a hold of her collar. Her guardian was very grateful!
The Play Pack
Coco played with her old friend Bella when we first got to the park while Daisy made rounds to greet everyone who was there. A little later on, Coco had a good wrestle with a young Burmese Mountain dog. Daisy chased down tennis balls alongside a couple other dogs. During the latter part of our visit, Coco got into a really good bout of play with a Husky and Daisy ran over and joined in by jumping up on Coco wherever she could find an open spot.
