The Adventure Pack

Mogul and Toskey had a lot of fun together today.  Toskey teased Mogul with a stick and got him to chase her around in circles, and then after a standoff Mogul came away with the stick and Toskey chased him around.  Rucksack spent the hike on-leash since he's recently lost my trust to stay with me and his packmates when I let him off.  We worked a bit on his on-leash manners by stopping when he got ahead and standing with the leash tense as he tried to lean forward, and then waiting until he relaxed and settled back before starting to walk again.  Coco got the same practice when they were on leash together.  After standing with the leash tense for a moment, Coco typically backed up to loosen the tension.  When Rucksack was still leaning forward against the leash she whined at him as if telling him to back up so we could start walking again.

The Play Pack

Brady ran after a Husky at the park briefly, and later on he was excited to meet a Shetland Sheepdog (they look like small Lassies).  He played fetch a bit alongside Coco.  He brought the ball back a few times, but mostly he just wanted to play keep away after chasing it down.  Coco was especially good about leaving the ball alone when I reached down to pick it up with the Chuckit today.  I just told her "leave it" before reaching down, and she sat and waited politely (but clearly with restrained excitement) for me to throw it.  Mogul chased Brewster around a bit with a few other dogs.  He also did a lot of lounging with his front paws crossed.
