The Adventure Pack

Benny and Wesley explored some big rock piles off the side of the trail.  Later on, Wesley lied down in a small open meadow and Benny started hopping around him until Wesley popped up and chased him.  Coco and Rucksack also had fun chasing each other in an open meadow next to the trail.  Ice made the trails pretty treacherous yesterday, but today it was almost all melted, and what hadn't melted completely had turned to slush and wasn't really slippery.

The Play Pack

Fletcher's excitement to go to the park is intense.  When I picked him up at home he kept running in circles around me, but he slipped on the hardwood floor, so he ended up sliding back and forth from one side of the room to the other.  He finally sat and stayed when I asked him to, until he settled down a bit.  He did a lot of fetching and chasing after Coco today.  Coco also did a lot of fetching, and she was perfect today about bringing the ball right back and dropping it in front of me.  Daisy chased after some tennis balls, too.  She also ran after Fletcher as he chased a yellow Lab mix around for a while.  Benny sniffed around a lot and chewed on twigs.  He also snuck up on the pockets of a few humans.  He's very nosey.  He was interested in the tennis ball, too, but he seems to have a lot of difficulty keeping his eye on the ball and loses track of it as soon as I throw it.  I threw it really short a few times so he didn't lose sight of it.  Even then he had a little difficulty but then when he saw it bouncing by him he pounced.  In general dogs are more driven by their sense of smell than their sense of sight, but it seems to be especially true of Benny!
