The Adventure Pack
Rucksack and Wesley trotted around together today but didn't get too worked up. Rucksack did have some fun dancing beneath trees as snow fell from them - something I remember him enjoying last winter as well. Wesley plopped down a few times along the trails to nibble packed snow from his paws and Benny helped him a little bit. Benny and Coco were also pretty mellow on today's hike.
The Play Pack
Benny spent a lot of his park visit eating ice off of picnic table benches. Later on, he played with his friend Sammy. Brady caught the interest of a young pup named Louie, who circled and play-bowed all around him until Brady chased him around. After they played a little, Brady was done and walked away, and Louie followed him, play-bowing behind him, trying to entice him into another chase - but Brady had enough and just wanted to sniff around for a while. Fletcher likes to make rounds up and down the park to see what's going on, and when he sees another dog running he runs up alongside them and gives a bark in their ear. Sometimes this results in a good run together, sometimes the other dog just stops and walks away from him. Fletcher and Coco both got really interested in playing with one dog and sandwiched him between them, and the other dog got overwhelmed and made a move to let them know to back off. I heard a yip from Coco and she came over to me. I looked her over and didn't see any marks at the time and she soon went back to playing, but when we went back to the car I saw that she had a tear on the outside of her left ear that was bleeding a bit. There had been no lingering tension between her and the other dog and she didn't even seem to notice it, so she's probably just fine. Her mom brought her to the vet to see if she might need stitches. Coco is a sweetheart and a trooper.
