The Adventure Pack

Toskey and Coco were having fun off-leash together when another dog came up the trail.  I think the other dog was a little intimidated by the pack so he stopped in place and held his held kind of low while watching us.  Coco and Toskey interpreted his posture as stalking and started barking at the other dog to sound the alarm.  They settled down after a moment and the dog came over and everyone had a good sniff.  Later on, we came across a group of 6 dogs, including a couple of Golden Retrievers, and Wesley and Rucksack (who were off leash) happily greeted their new friends.  When the other dogs and their people continued down a fork, one of the women turned back to Wesley and called him (I can't remember the name she used) before realizing that he wasn't her Golden.

The Play Pack

Coco played a lot of fetch today and has gotten much better about leaving the ball alone when I reach down to pick it up with the chuck it.  She used to dive on top of the ball and try to steal it away before I could get it; she still dove for it some of the time today, but she backed off as soon as I told her to "leave it", and then sat and waited patiently - even if I walked away from her - until I told her "ok!" and threw it for her.  I was very impressed with her good manners.  Benny had lots of fun with a little 7-month old puppy whose name was also Benny and who looked like a Whippet/Jack Russel Terrier mix.  Benny was playful but gentle with the smaller pup, letting the little guy chew on his face while he mostly just butted him with his shoulders and dropped into play-bows.  They were adorable together.  Brady was a bit more lively than he has been his last few visits, but still not quite his usual self.  He chased some tennis balls but also let some go with just a glance and a brief hop.  He had a little play spurt with the same puppy that Benny was having fun with, but started sneezing alot when he was playing.
