The Adventure Pack

Coco has been much quicker at coming when I call her on the trails lately - something she's been having some trouble with.  She and Benny just did a lot of sniffing when they were off leash together.  Later on, when Rucksack found a big stick to carry, Coco and Benny gnawed on either end of it.  When Rucksack wasn't carrying his stick, he was hopping around Wesley and getting his packmate to play with him.  Coco and Benny both had some trouble watching Rucksack and Wesley romp and not being able to join in - Coco made her Chewbacca sounds again.

The Play Pack

Fletcher rejoined the pack today after a couple months away and had a great time with his packmates.  He, Coco, Benny, and Daisy all played fetch for most of our visit.  Fletcher was first to the ball most of the time, but Coco beat him to it now and then.  Daisy chased after whoever went for the ball, all the way down and back.  Sometimes I faked Fletcher and Coco out and then threw a short one for Daisy when they weren't looking.  Benny was interested in the ball but didn't try racing for it.  I few him a few short ones when the other dogs were distracted, too.  When the other dogs dropped the ball, he would pounce on it and amuse himself for a little bit.  There was a big flock of geese just outside the park and Benny was very wary of them.  He stared at them and stepped in place while quietly woofing.  I drew his attention away by having him sit with his back to them, then we walked along the fence and I made a point to look away from the geese and engage him and his packmates so he wouldn't fixate on them.
