The Adventure Pack
Coco, Benny, Rucksack, and Wesley all kept their noses to the ground for most of today's hike. Some of the trails at Sanitas required that dogs be on leash because of a recent bear sighting, so I'm guessing that the pack was picking up on some hints of the scent of the new visitor. Tomorrow, we'll be heading to Chautauqua and we'll continue to go there until the bear moves on.
The Play Pack
When we first got to the park, Shiba-Inu-Benny had a confrontation with a yellow lab who tried laying his head over Benny's back. It was brief and just involved a lot of growling and pawing, but I broke it up and brought the pack down to the other end of the park. He was very distracted by the unfamiliar surroundings and
spent the beginning of the visit just wandering around, sniffing, and
paying little attention to me. After he got comfortable, though, he
made a habit of coming by and checking in with me every so often. Ridgeback-Benny found several friends to run and wrestle with, and was all over the park today. Coco stayed by my side for a lot of the time as she's been doing more and more over the past few weeks. She and Shiba-Inu-Benny played together a bit. Coco and I also played some fetch.
