The Adventure Pack

Benny had his nose to the ground for just about the entire hike again today.  Coco was also very interested in scenting today, but she also wanted to play with her packmates.  When Rucksack and Wesley chased each other around for a little bit, Coco had a really hard time letting them be and she kept jumping around and trying to go after them even though she was on leash.  I squatted down and put my arm around her until she settled down and then she was much better.  Rucksack met another dog who likes to carry big sticks on hikes and after they greeted each other he ended up taking her stick along with us and she found a new one to carry.  When we got back to the car after the hike, Benny nibbled on Wesley and ended up with a mouthful of undercoat that he couldn't get rid of, so I helped him pull it out.

The Play Pack

Brady made some friends at the park today, and also played a lot with Mable.  The two of them had some fun chasing around a medium sized dog (maybe part German Wirehaired Pointer?).  Mable has gotten to be so comfortable and brave at the park that it's hard to imagine she was ever shy and timid.  She and Coco got into a good round of chasing and jumping around each other.  Fletcher was the fetching champion of the day as he beat his packmates to the ball on just about every throw.  Once, when he brought the ball back to me and dropped it, Brady swooped in and stole it away.  Fletcher looked at me for a moment then ran alongside Brady and barked in his ear, seemingly telling him "No, the human is supposed to pick it up, not you!"  Brady ignored Fletcher's appeal and wandered under a picnic table to savor his prize.
