The Adventure Pack
Fletcher, Coco, and Rucksack all pulled when they were on leash today, especially Fletcher. He's very responsive when he's off leash and is quick to come to me whenever I call, but when he's on leash it's like he's always anticipating my next move and he wants to beat me there. I've been working with him one-on-one when I bring him to and from the car and he's gotten better at that; I'm still hoping for it to translate to when he's walking in a group. Fletcher and Mogul went off leash together to start the hike and Mogul chased Fletcher around a bit. Then we came by some kids who were eating just off the trail and Mogul's attention turned right to them. He walked over to them calmly despite my calling him up the trail. From what I've seen, food and children seem to be two of Mogul's favorite things, so it just was too much for him to resist. I went back and rounded him up and we continued on. Later, Rucksack and Coco romped with one another as they usually do when they get to be off leash together. We were hiking back at Chautauqua again today since Sanitas is closed off due to the fire. On the way down the Chautauqua Trail, Coco and Rucksack played a game of hide, seek, and ambush in the tall grass. They would each lie down and wait until one would get up and try to find the other. The one still lying down would follow the rustling until it came near and then they would both explode into a short chase, until they lost one another and lied back down to hide again.
The Play Pack
Mogul got into a chase shortly after we arrived at the park today. One of the park regulars, Brewster, got a few dogs riled up and they all ran after him. Mogul just watched for a minute, but then he joined in the fun. Meanwhile, Coco was having a wrestling match with her friend Buzz. Later on, Mogul lounged in the sun while Coco played fetch.
