The Adventure Pack

Benny and Coco had a low-key hike today.  Coco has been developing a bad habit of pulling on the leash, and I want to establish the right habits with Benny to start with, so we spent a lot of the time working on that.  They were both really interested in sniffing just about every inch of ground we covered today, which makes me wonder whether the moisture brings out more scents.  In the car, the two of them wrestled around with one another a bit.  Benny did a lot of whining and whimpering, but kept poking and prodding Coco for more.

The Play Pack

Brady has made it a part of his routine to bark at Fletcher right as Fletcher hops into the car to go to the park.  Then, when we first enter the park, Brady chases Fletcher for about 5 seconds and barks at him some more - then carries on without another thought for him.  Brady found a playmate in a chocolate Lab/Pit Bull mix at the park today.  In fact, the entire pack ran around with that dog for a while.  Mable is always getting more adventurous.  Today, she got her packmates and another dog she just met to chase her at high speed around the park.  I was surprised that she was able to keep ahead of the other dogs.  I was a little concerned about Fletcher right on her tail because he's so much bigger than her, but he kept enough distance and when Mable decided to stop he backed right off.  Coco had a lot of fun with a new toy she found at the park: a tennis ball with a long rope sticking out of it.  She pranced around the park with the rope end in her mouth, flicking the ball side to side around her to tease the other dogs who might want it.  When she left it behind for a little bit, another dog grabbed it up.  She immediately went over and had a brief tug-of-war that she won, and then she flailed it all around in front of the other dog's face.
