The Adventure Pack
Coco and Wesley started today's hike off leash together and Wesley really had a good time with the pack's energizer puppy. At first, Wesley and Coco just wandered around sniffing the area and doing their own things, but then Coco started jumping around Wesley and nibbling his ears until he chased her up the trail. The two of them ran side by sideup and down the trail for a while after that before Wesley got tired took up position right behind me at a steady pace. After that, Rucksack and Toskey played together. Rucksack found a big stick to carry around and Toskey tried to get it from him. She danced around in front of him to distract him and draw him away from the stick, but Rucksack wasn't fooled and Toskey just ended up slipping on some loose rocks and falling on her butt.
The Play Pack
Brady felt the need to bark at Fletcher for a second when we picked him up again today. They get along just fine otherwise. I guess Brady just wants to make sure that the big dogs he meets know he's tough. Brady beat Coco and Fletcher to the tennis balls when we played fetch most of the time, even though his packmates have longer legs for running. On other days, the bigger dogs have fared better. I'm working with all of them on bringing the ball back and dropping it for me, and they've all been doing it a lot more consistently over time. Pico couldn't have cared less about fetch, but she did enjoy some good chases. She got Coco and Fletcher to chase her around a few different times during the visit, and she also caught the interest of an Akita for a little while.
