The Adventure Pack

Rucksack found a stick he liked early on during today's hike.  Within moments, he had Coco's interest.  She came running toward him and he spun at the last second to keep the stick away from her; but Coco was clever and anticipated his spin, and met him face-to-face and grabbed the stick out of his mouth before he knew what happened.  She dropped the stick a few seconds later and let him carry it for a bit, and then tested him again and came away with the stick; then shortly after she dropped it again and let him keep it.  She just had to show him that she knew his moves and he couldn't get one past her.  When we got up to the Flatironette, we wandered around the rocks for a little while as the pack sniffed out whatever had been going on there before.  After that, when we started heading back down, Mogul channeled his inner mountain goat spirit as he waited for us to head down the switchbacks a ways before he came down the mountainside on a steep, direct route.

The Play Pack

Pico, Coco, and Mogul all ran with each other at the park today.  It started off with just Coco and Pico running together while Mogul watched; then I got Mogul to run with me and Coco came over and the two of them chased each other around, and Pico joined in.  Pico ran around with some other dogs, too, and it's so funny how she tries to get dogs to chase her.  When she saw another dog being chased, she would join in as if she was interested in chasing that dog, too; but then the moment she got ahead of the lead pursuer she would break away apparently in the hopes of drawing the chase onto her instead.  When the other dogs ignored her and continued their original pursuit, she stopped and looked back, disappointed.  Coco wrestled around with Buzz and Zeus alot today.  Zeus came up to Mogul with submissive displays of crouching down and licking at Mogul's face as he likes to do, and although Mogul was irritated at first, he seemed to be starting to get used to being fawned over by the young pup.
