The Adventure Pack

Mogul and Coco started today's hike off-leash together.  We went back to Chautauqua again due to the Mountain Lion sightings at Sanitas, and hiked up the Flatironette.  The two of them both stuck close by, and neither of them were interested in carrying sticks or anything today.  Rucksack and Fletcher went off-leash for the latter half of the hike and the two of them kept running up ahead on the trail and then back.  Fletcher made a habit of hopping up on big rocks to get a view downhill, and when we caught up Coco hopped up next to him to get a look too.  We passed a young boy going the other way at one point and Mogul paused next to him for a minute to enjoy being pet.  Later on, a passing hiker was amazed at how soft Rucksack's coat felt.  Mogul and Rucksack both seem to love the attention from humans.

The Play Pack

Two housemates who occassionally join the pack were with us today - Misha and Sophia - and they love to run.  After we were at the park for a little bit, Misha started getting really interested in Mable and the two of them danced around a bit with each other before Misha took off running.  Mable, Coco, and Sophia all joined together in pursuit.  I was impressed by how fast Mable could run with her little legs!  Mogul watched while the rest of the pack ran around for a bit and then he joined in for a quick sprint around with them.  After that, we walked back over to where some other dogs were hanging out and Coco wrestled around with her friend Sammy while they lied on the ground together; then Mable started playing with Sammy, catapulting herself into his side and dancing around while he pawed at her.  Sophia was up to her old tricks, crouching down in ambush position until just the right moment to pounce and chase Misha.  Mable tried the same trick with a passing Pit Bull mix, but the other dog wasn't impressed with her hunting prowess and shrugged her off when she lunged.
