The Adventure Pack

Rucksack started off today's hike with a stick he found along the side of the trail.  However, it wasn't long before he found a tennis ball left behind by another dog, and he opted for that instead of sticks for the rest of the hike.  Coco found one of the signposts along the trails to be worth a good long sniff of about a minute or so - I wonder if she recognized the scent of whoever had marked it.

The Play Pack

Brady and Coco raced for tennis balls at the park again today while Mable wandered all around.  I learned that as much as Brady likes to hold on to the tennis ball after fetching it, he's more than happy to drop it if I'm holding a treat.  At one point, when Brady was returning with a ball, Mable crouched down into the ambush position and dove on him when he came near.  She proceeded to hop around on him for a little bit while he trotted around, tennis ball in mouth, playing keep-away.  Later on, Brady met a huge St. Bernard puppy and the two of them spent a few minutes just standing and sniffing each other.  A playful Pit Bull mix puppy wanted to play with Mable but he was a little too pushy and she got overwhelmed and let out a yelp.  Coco came over to see what was going on and then she drew the other puppy away into play.  It reminded me of when Marley (a former pack member) did the same when another dog was being too pushy with Coco, when Coco was still just a little pup.
