The Adventure Pack

Coco, Rucksack and Wesley all had a great hike together today.  Coco and Rucksack enjoyed their usual stick-related antics.  When I give Rucksack water from the Camelbak he has a tendency to bite/gulp at the stream of water and consequently swallow air, so I've been taking care to train him to drink less frantically by stopping the water flow whenever he starts to gulp.  It only took a few interruptions for him to calm down a bit and drink more gently; but he still tries gulping the first few times whenever we stop.  Wesley and Coco are both pros at lapping up the water as it pours out.  I noticed some burrs that Wesley picked up in his coat along the hike.  I picked them out but probably missed a few.  It was nothing like Rucksack's coat often gets, though, since Rucksack goes off leash on the hikes and likes to run through the brush alongside the trail.  Luckily, Coco's short hair makes her virtually impervious.

The Play Pack

All of the other dogs and their guardians were just leaving the park as I showed up with Coco and Fletcher, because it started sprinkling and the wind picked up like there was going to be a storm.  The weather settled down after just 15 minutes or so.  Though there weren't any other dogs at the park for a little while, Coco and Fletcher had plenty of fun chasing and wrestling with one another.  It was funny when I threw a ball for Coco to fetch and Fletcher ambushed her on the way back to me, because that's something she's done countless times to Rucksack when I play fetch with him.  Other dogs showed up when the skies cleared but aside from some brief greetings Coco and Fletcher were just interested in each other for the entire visit.
