The Adventure Pack

Rucksack found a stick he liked early in the hike and brought it almost to the peak of our route, but left it behind a little short.  On our way back, Coco noticed it lying there as we passed by again and she picked it up herself and carried it down most of the way.  Mogul was complimented by a passing hiker for his unique markings.

The Play Pack

Pico had her first day of Pack Activities today when she joined the Play Pack at the dog park!  Pico was very shy when I first showed up to bring her out.  Once I clipped the leash to her collar, she decided she would trust me and follow me out.  At the car, she was hesitant to get in; Coco hopped out so they could greet in the open space but Pico was still a bit wary of her.  Once we got to the park, though, it was a whole different story!  Pico was clearly excited when we approached the gate, though she was holding her tail between her legs.  She rushed in and greeted the nearby dogs in a hurry, wiggling around with excitement but still hunched over with some anxiety.  Then I took the pack for a walk around the perimeter and 30 seconds later Pico's tail was up and she and Coco were chasing each other all over.  After watching the two of them go at it for a bit, Mogul decided to join and ran after Pico for a little bit.  Later, a playful young dog named Bella showed up and wrestled around with Coco and Pico while Mogul hung out under a picnic table.  Pico was totally relaxed by that point, with her tail out and wagging and a big grin on her face.  When a Brittany Spaniel came to the park, Coco and Mogul were both enthralled.  I could see that Mogul really liked the spaniel but that Coco was dominating his attention, so I called Coco over for some fetch since she finds plenty of playmates and Mogul is more picky.  A moment later I looked over to see Mogul play-bowing and rolling around on the ground, chewing and pawing at the spaniel playfully.
