The Adventure Pack

Fletcher had his first day of Pack Activities last Friday when he joined the Play Pack, but today he had his first day out hiking!  He had already met two of his hiking buddies - Coco and Rucksack - and he met Mogul today for the first time.  On the trails, Mogul trotted along at the head of the pack while Fletcher would run up by Mogul, stop and look back at me, wait for me to catch up to him, and then run up next to Mogul again.  When he started, I thought he'd just do it for a little bit until he felt confident that the rest of the pack and I were coming along, but he continuted to do it for the whole second half of the hike while he was off leash.  Coco and Rucksack spent much of the hike having tug-of-war matches over various sticks they came across.  Coco usually ended up with the stick because she was more persistent.  For a few minutes, they carried the same stick side-by-side without trying to steal it from one another.  They've done that once before and it's been adorable both times.

The Play Pack

Coco started off our park visit with a round of fetch.  Luna has never been interested in tennis balls at the park before today.  After Coco had fetched a few, Luna came over and watched as I threw it.  When Coco overran it and missed the ball, Luna darted over, grabbed it up, and brought it back to me.  Aside from that one time, however, she still wasn't interested in tennis balls for the rest of the visit.  Later on, Luna wrestled around with a little puppy named Sammy while Coco had fun with her friend Zeus.  Mogul hung out under a picnic table around some little kids for a lot of the visit.  I got him up and walking around with Luna and Coco for a little bit, and I got some playful energy out of him for a few minutes as I ran alongside him, but he didn't stay interested in that for long and on the whole he was very mellow again today.
