The Adventure Pack

Coco and Welsey met a couple friendly dogs at the beginning of today's hike and they pranced around with one another a bit.  I let Wesley off the leash for a few minutes to play with them since he's been so responsive to me and he was very excited to make friends.  He did perfectly well and came right back to me when it was time to move on.  Coco was also good about following me, as she typically is, even though it meant leaving behind their new friends.

The Play Pack

Fletcher had his first day of Pack Activities today!  He's a great German Shepherd who got along instantly with Coco and Rucksack.  Within minutes, he three of them were trotting around the park together like they were old buddies.  Rucksack spent the beginning of our park visit mostly playing fetch.  Meanwhile, Coco would watch me, poised and excited as though she was ready to go after the ball; but when I threw it she would just turn around to watch, letting Rucksack do the retrieving.  Fletcher especially liked Rucksack, and almost every time Rucksack fetched a ball Fletcher would be following behind him; but he had no interest in the ball - just Rucksack.  He followed Rucksack around when we weren't playing fetch, too.  Fletcher met a little terrier today who he was also especially interested in, but who wasn't especially friendly and kept telling Fletcher to back off.  Fletcher was gentle, but persistent.  Eventually I called him, Rucksack, and Coco over to me and we walked around a little bit to give the terrier some more space.
