The Adventure Pack
Coco made friends with a boy on the trails today who was carrying a stick and threw it for her to fetch; she didn't actually bring it back but he was still very amused by her. Rucksack was occupied with his own sticks throughout the hike, while Mogul was busy marking bushes along the side of the trail. Mogul was a bit put off by the water coming out of the Camelbak spout, but he drank a little bit eventually. On the way back, Rucksack made of friend of his own in a man taking photos of the scenery. He was kneeling down at the side of the Chautauqua trail when Rucksack came up beside him and sniffed his camera. "No no...the camera isn't for eating," he informed Rucksack in a lighthearted tone.
The Play Pack
Rucksack fetched over and over and over again today. Coco played some fetch, too - which she's gotten very good at - but she was also distracted by wrestling around with other dogs. Today, Mogul found a dog that he desperately wanted to be playmates with! The other dog was a bit older, and walked right up to Mogul and started barking in his face. Apparently, that was just the trick! Mogul started play-bowing, dancing, and spinning around in front of the other dog. Earlier in the visit I had made an effort to get Mogul up and moving around and running with me, which I think helped prime him to be more playful.
