Coco and Rucksack started off today's hike by chasing each other through the tall grass, while Mogul was chewing on some of the grass to settle his stomach (which I'm told was bothering him earlier in the morning). For the rest of the hike, though, Mogul seemed fine. He was actually at the head of the pack for much of the time instead of lagging behind as he often does. Coco found a big stick to carry around. It was a bit unwieldy and she had to hold her head up high to keep it from dragging. Rucksack had another stick of his own that he found easier to manage.
After we picked up Luna for the Play Pack, she and Coco lied down in the back of the packmobile and gnawed at each other. When they first started playing like that last week they were really animated and there was a lot of hopping around and pinning, while today they were more gentle and affectionate in their face-chewing. Luna, Rucksack, and Coco all had a good chase again today. This time, Luna started off as the pursuer and Rucksack was the pursued. Coco joined in after a moment and then the tables turned and Luna was the one in the lead, being chased by the other two. Mogul watched their chase from a distance. Maybe he was still feeling a little under the weather, because he usually likes to get in on a good chase. He met another dog at the park a little later who got him excited. The two of them stood side by side, nose to butt, standing as tall as they could, with their tails wagging swiftly. It seemed like play was about to break out at any second, but then they suddenly lost interest in each other.
