Adventure Pack
Mamacita, Sputnik, and Coco hit the trails at Shanahan Ridge together this morning and had a nice hike. We took a quicker pace than usual through our ascent, with only a couple stops for the dogs to sniff and mark. On the return leg, we took our time and lingered a lot more as everyone - especially Sputnik - checked out points of interest.
Play Pack
There were a lot of dogs at the park today and everyone found a playmate. Thompson met a white German Shepherd with whom he walked around for a while. Chunk had a blast with a wirey, yellow-coated dog with whom we sometimes cross paths, and Thompson joined in to nudge Chunk's freind around and even dropped into some play-bows. Chunk also enjoyed the attention of a Bernese Mountain Dog, although that one was a little bit pushy and was eventually escorted away to play with other dogs who could keep up with him. Colby is finally coming around to Ruffers' attempts at goading her into play. They played peek-a-boo around the tree stumps at the south end of the park, dodging back and forth from one side to the other as they each tried to sneak up on the other without being snuck up upon themselves. They also went on some runs together. At one point, they came up to me for pets and then ended up pawing at each other and getting into a playful wrestle. Ruffers, Coco, and Mamacita all enjoyed wiggling around in the grass at the north end of the park. Chunk made rounds between them as they wiggle away, hopping from one to the next to see what all the commotion was for. Coco and Ruffers ran around with a pair of high-energy dogs for a little while. Mamacita found a play partner with whom she had some stand-offs that broke into bows and dodges. It was a very fun and exciting afternoon at the park!
