Adventure Pack
Mamacita, Monarch, Coco, and Sputnik hit the trail together this morning. It's mostly dried up now, though we still came across a couple stretches of ice and a few stretches of mud. We did our best to avoid the muddiest spots, but Monarch and Sputnik both had some gunk for me to clean out from between their toes by the end of the hike. Mamacita and Coco managed to keep their paws pretty clean.
Play Pack
Yoda met a Boxer with a brindle coat at the park, with whom he was very interested in making friends. He followed him around and made playful nudges, dodges, and bows as the Boxer went about his business, occasionally entertaining Yoda with a playful standoff and a bit of dodging around. Meanwhile, Ruffers made friends with another Australian Shepherd and she chased her new friend all around. Isaac and Coco followed me, staring, waiting for tennis balls to come their way. A nice gentleman tried throwing a couple balls for Coco but she just continued to stare at him and didn't chase them down. I explained to him that Coco is used to Isaac always outracing her so she doesn't even try to go after long throws. I demonstrated by making a shorter throw to her and she promptly chased it down and brought it back. Mamacita was in a playful mood and had a fun game of run-and-dodge with Isaac and a couple other runs amidst various playful dogs at the park. Thompson hung out around a young Husky for a while. When the Husky was wrestling with another dog, Husky stepped in to mount him a couple times, which resulted in the Husky flopping onto the ground and playing the victim rather than the aggressor in his wrestling match. Thompson was so calm and deliberate in his interventions that it seemed he was trying to teach the young pup about fair play.
