Adventure Pack
The pack was in a playful mood this morning. When they first hopped out of the car at the trailhead, Coco bowed and hopped around Monarch. As we made our way up the trail, Monarch and Sputnik made some playful leaps and dodges with each other. Coco and Sputnik both settled into a steady pace eventually but Monarch had a playful bounce in her step throughout, exemplified by her leaping over a bush that was at the edge of the trail rather than falling in line to walk past it with the rest of us.
Play Pack
The playful spirits continued this afternoon. Mamacita joined the usual group for our park visit and she spent the entire time sprinting around in the thin layer of snow. Ruffers, Coco, and Isaac all joined her for some runs. Meanwhile, Thompson had chest-butting sparring matches with a few other dogs who came to the park. One exuberant young pup who didn't respect Thompson's mass bounced right off of him and onto his butt, unfortunately hurting his leg from the way he fell. He was putting some weight on it a few moments later, so he hopefully wasn't hurt too badly. Isaac had some competition for fetching in the form of a young yellow Lab. Isaac was definitely faster but he seemed to be having a hard time tracking the ball so the Lab often beat him to it. Ruffers and Coco both enjoyed chasing the Lab around and knocking him around a bit. Mamacita avoided contact play but managed to inspire some chases with other dogs.
