Adventure Pack
Most of the ice on the trails has melted, aside from the the ascent to Shanahan Ridge from the Cragmoor Connector. I made my way up carefully with the pack, and once we reached the crest it was much easier going. Sputnik and Rucksack were both eager to get going and required frequent reminders to ease up and stick with the group. Mamacita and Coco were both more interested in lingering to sniff spots as we passed them than to pull ahead to the next thing.
Play Pack
Colby bounded into the park alongside Coco this afternoon, with Stella and Thompson following behind. While walking the park with the pack, I threw tennis balls for Coco. Colby chased down a ball once or twice but wasn't very focused on it. There were a few young dogs at the park who each greeted the pack. A small, young Husky was interested in Thompson, but he was also very timid and leapt out of his skin and ran away every time Thompson looked in his direction. Colby met a young, goofy puppy with a coat similar to hers. She got a bit nasty when he excitedly got in her face, but she backed off and left him alone after making her point, and he decided to leave her alone, as well, as he went back to jumping around and being a puppy. Coco made some playful moves with a young German Shepherd mix. Stella said hello to all the dogs she came across, but she was more interested in sniffing than in playing with anyone. Later on, I got Colby riled up for a run and then got her into playing fetch with a tennis ball with much more enthusiasm than earlier. Coco joined in the excitement and played some fetch as well with a tennis ball of her own.
