Adventure Pack

Coco and Rucksack happily greeted the several dogs we saw during our hike at the CU South trail this morning.  When there were no other dogs nearby, they both wandered far off the trail to sniff around in the snow.  Meanwhile, Sputnik and Mamacita were both a bit wired and anxious about passing other dogs, as Mamacita made whining noises and Sputnik growled a couple different times.  Mamacita did her patented rear-back-and-lunge-forward move repeatedly during the final stretch of our hike, either attempting to let me know that she wanted to go for a run or trying to convey her desire to get back to the car and out of the cold - it's hard to tell which with her.

Play Pack

Clover and Monarch burst into the dog park in a sprint from the gate when we arrived this afternoon.  Thompson and Stella wandered off to sniff around, while Coco followed at my heel and waited for me to throw the tennis ball for her.  She lost the ball in the snow before long, but had fun joining in with Clover and Monarch as they chased and wrestled around.  Thompson and Stella eventually caught up with the rest of us as we made our way around the perimeter and we all walked around as a pack for a little bit.  Before long, though, Stella got caught up in getting attention from people, Thompson wandered off where his nose led, and Clover and Monarch went to go see several other dogs who were hanging out around the center of the park.  Coco stuck by me the entire time, thinking I could magically conjure up the tennis ball she lost in the snow.  I did eventually find it, but she promptly lost it again after just a few throws.
