Adventure Pack

The pack encountered a pair of wildly excited dogs that were leaving the trailhead just as we approached, and Coco, Mamacita, and Sputnik all bristled and growled a bit as the other dogs barked and jumped around.  Thompson was completely unfazed by the hubbub.  After the initial reaction, the rest of the pack settled down and sat in place as the other dogs were herded away by their humans, still barking with anxious excitement.  The rest of the hike afterwards was pretty calm and uneventful.  We passed some calmer dogs and the pack was perfectly pleasant with them.  Some personalities just don't really mix.

Play Pack

Chelsea, Coco, Stella, and Isaac all enjoyed a hike at CU South Campus together.  We passed a pair of horseback riders while the pack was on leash.  Coco and Chelsea watched the horses out of the corners of their eyes until we were well past them, while Isaac also shot occasional glances their way.  As Thompson this morning, Stella wasn't particularly interested in the encounter and was happy to just trot along and sniff at the trail.  I guess age dampened their reactions a bit, as Stella and Thompson are our two oldest pack members.  They must have been thinking, "Been there, done that."
