Adventure Pack
Monarch had her second outing with the pack this morning. She was a bit hesitant to hop in the packmobile, but Sputnik and Chelsea greeted her warmly. Coco kept to herself when her new packmate joined us today. Once out on the trails, everyone stubbornly wanted to go their own way in pursuit of various smells. They each went back and forth between different spots, getting a nose full and then checking out what their packmates had found. After that initial flurry, however, everyone trotted along the trail together very nicely. Monarch is still unsure of the CamelBak spout, though i tucked it under her lip and got her to drink a little once she stopped throwing her head to the side to avoid it. Coco, Sputnik, and Chelsea were all eager to have a drink, as most of the pack usually is. Hopefully Monarch will follow suit as she continues to watch the other dogs drink happily, so in the future she can cool her panting tongue, too.
Play Pack
The park was very busy today. Isaac had two, herding-breed, fetch tag-alongs who raced out and back with him as he retrieved the tennis ball. With so much competition around, Coco was a little less willing to run after the ball and just let it go whenever I threw it too far, even if the others were busy chasing down another ball and didn't go for hers. She had a fun time wiggling around in the grass, though, and one playful pup enjoyed pouncing on her mid-wiggle every so often. Thompson made a Husky friend who followed him for a while as he made his rounds to all the people and got lots of love. Ruffers played a bit with Coco and Chunk, after first going on some runs with other dogs shortly after arriving. Chunk found one Husky friend who played very well with him by mostly using hip-checks and giving Chunk the upper paw to jump all over him.
