Coco spent much of today's hike hunting grasshoppers, though she never caught one. I was glad to see that the scratch on her eyelid is all healed now. Rucksack got a haircut over the weekend! Although the shorter hair on his body didn't pick up much debris on the trails, the longer hair on his face still did; in fact, he had more foxtails to pick off his face today than I think he ever has before. Mogul lied down in the creek at the beginning of our hike and was hesitant to get up and move on, but eventually gave in.
Mogul was more active at the park today than he has been recently. He was up and about, sniffing out the other dogs there. One young dog (that might have been an English Coonhound) was happy to greet him and lied down in front of him. Mogul stood over the other dog for a few minutes while the other dog occassionally looked up and licked at Mogul's face. Although he sometimes gets annoyed by that kind of behavior, he seemed happy to let this particular dog fawn over him. The dog that looks like he could be from the same litter as occasional-pack-member Marley was at the park again today, and was very playful with both Rucksack and Coco. At one point, he got Rucksack to start chasing him and before long there were half a dozen dogs running full speed around the park. A little while later, Coco inspired a few dogs to chase her around, too.
