Adventure Pack
Sputnik joined the pack this morning alongside Mamacita, Benny, and Milo. Mamacita and Sputnik both bot a little worked up over one passing dog and grumbled when they started to come up from behind us, but they caught themselves quickly when I gave them a little tug and were otherwise both friendly and pleasant with the rest of the dogs we saw. Milo and Benny followed us from behind for the entire hike, with Benny occassionally wandering into the brush to follow interesting scents and Milo occassionally wandering into the brush to roll around in remaining patches of snow.
Play Pack
It took a little time for the pack to get on the same page this afternoon. Charlie and Fritz were especially caught up in their own business and kept pulling off to the side of the trail after scents, and switching places, resulting in their leashes getting wound together every couple minutes. Eventually, those two settled into walking as part of the pack. Charlie's sister Coco was much more oreinted to the pack and followed along off the leash with hardly any distraction, only pausing occasionally to sniff right at the edge of the trail. Meanwhile, Sanaya was enjoying wandering through the brush well off from the trail. She and a passing Golden Retriever enjoyed a thorough investigation of one area together before parting ways as we headed in opposite directions. Stella and Mamacita trotted along with the pack pretty well, not as distracted as Charlie and Fritz. I was glad to see that Fritz, who had previously been a little bit nervous about hopping into a car full of dogs the first few times he came out with the pack, has gotten comfortable with his packmates and needed no help hopping into the car with them today, as he did it himself without any pause or hesitation.
