Adventure Pack
Our old packmate Coco has moved back from Seattle and joined the pack for our hike at Shanahan Ridge this morning! Coco and Mamacita walked on leash together while Milo and Thompson wandered around us. Coco walked better on the leash than I remember, which was nice. I guess her time in the city has gotten her a bit more accustomed to containing her exuberance. Thompson and Milo stayed close throughout the hike until the very end when we began our descent back to the trailhead. At that point, both of them lingered at the top of the ridge as Mamacita, Coco, and I headed down. Then, when I called to them to catch up, they decided they would rather walk in the opposite direction. When I backtracked to where they had been hanging out, they were nowhere to be seen. After looking around a bit, I finally saw Thompson walking around on someone's back porch that borders the open space down the hill. When I went back down to street level, Milo met me on the sidewalk and then Thompson popped out from between a couple houses shortly thereafter. I guess the old guys felt the need for a little extra adventure today.
Play Pack
Mamacita, Sanaya, and Ruffers all felt that it was a perfect afternoon for rolling around in the grass. Meanwhile, Benny was hanging out with the park regulars who know him well and Sputnik was chasing a tennis ball I threw for him. Sanaya also played a bit of fetch, though she wasn't great about bringing it back to me. Sputnik made a friend who kept him busy for a long while. The two of them kept pawing at each other's backs and leaping around, each trying to best the other by mounting but keeping it light and playful throughout. Benny took an interest and gave Sputnik's playmate a few nudges as well, but then yelped and leaped away whenever the other dog actually paid attention to him.
