Adventure Pack
Oliver got spooked when a jogger slipped on some ice and stutter-stepped next to him and he responded with a firm growl, to which the jogger chuckled in response and called our littlest pack member "ferocious." Benny was very excited to greet one dog that was following another jogger. He ran over with such enthusiasm that the other dog let out a nervous yelp at his approach, which caused Benny to rear back and run over to me. Milo and Mamacita were less outgoing than their packmates today as they walked alongside me through the hike.
Play Pack
Ruffers and Sputnik kept each other company off-leash at CU South while Isaac and Mamacita walked on-leash at my side and I kept an eye on Thompson, who was off-leash, in order to keep him from wandering off too far as he tends to do. Ruffers and Sputnik occasionally gave each other playful nudges but didn't get into any big runs or wrestling matches. They both eagerly greeted passing dogs. They found one spot to sniff along the trail that then caught the interest of the entire pack. Mamacita and Thompson followed up after them, and then Isaac came over to see what all the fuss was about. After a thorough investigation, we started to head along the trail again but Thompson lingered behind a bit longer before his curiosity was satisfied. After keeping a close eye on Thompson through the walk, he and Ruffers disappeared into some tall reeds to greet a Golden Retriever who was playing hide-and-seek. Ruffers came out a moment later when I called to them. Thompson did not follow. When he finally emerged from the reeds, he was wading through the darkest muck to be found along the trail and he took his sweet time before returning from his diversion to come meet the rest of the pack on dry land.
